RACE RULES
The following race rules for the Niagara Ultra apply to ALL distances. These rules will be reiterated in the Race Briefing sent out one week before event day. It is the responsibility of the racer to familiarize themselves with these rules and ask questions BEFORE Race Kit Pickup. All rules are in place to create an even playing field for racers to determine race result standings.
1. No "muling"
Racers may NOT use a non-race person or a racer to carry and/or pass them supplies of any kind (food, gels, water, clothing). This rule applies to the course route between aid stations. Third parties ARE allowed to service their racer with supplies AT aid stations only.
2. No pacing
Racers are NOT allowed to have third party pacers of any kind on the race course. This includes family, friends or other races. Bike pacers, runners or walkers leading, following or accompanying racers are NOT allowed. Third parties are NOT allowed to lead racers in or out of an aid station, or into the finish line. Note: Many racers have their kids run through the finish line with them. This is fine & does not constitute "pacing."
3. Racers MUST run designated race route
By self-admission OR report by another racer and further investigation by Race Officials, any racers reported to go off course will be disqualified. To qualify for standing in race results, all racers MUST race on the same set course. Note that it IS acceptable for a racer to return to the point of exit from the official course if they realize they have run off course.
4. The ONLY accepted finish time is by the race's official chip timing company, including finish time results and on course times, as determined by the timing company's timing mats. Any self-timed device is NOT acceptable for changes to any of the official race times recorded by chip.
Rules 1-3, if broken will result in disqualification of the racer and listing of racer's name at the bottom of the respective race results page as "DQ." Again, it is the responsibility of the racer to familiarize themselves with these rules and ask questions for clarification BEFORE Race Kit Pickup.
Any inquiries and potential changes to race results must be done before 6 p.m. on the Sunday immediately following race day. Race Results become official thereafter and no changes will be made.
